Canadian Rocky Mountain Festival
The Canadian Rocky Mountain Festival is an exciting and revolutionary approach, which highlights performing, listening and learning. This festival is held every year at the Banff Centre and is considered the ‘Jewel of Music Festivals' in Canada . The format of the festival is unlike most others. More than half of the festival involves clinics and workshops and each year they offer great guest artists and performing groups!
You do not just come and perform at the festival; you are an integral part of it. The Canadian Rocky Mountain Festival offers performance, clinic and workshop opportunities for Concert Bands, Concert/Chamber Choirs, Jazz Bands and Jazz Choirs.

Classic FestivalsHigh standards of musical integrity along with outstanding musical quality combine to make a Classic Festival an enriched musical experience. Our philosophy lies in the understanding that each musical performance results in positive educational growth for the students. Each performing group receives on full hour of stage time. Following each performance, one or more of our clinicians will work with the group for the remainder of that hour. Emphasis is placed on positive reinforcement resulting in an overall meaningful and rewarding musical experience for each student. (back to top) |
Creative Arts Workshops
CAWS have been dedicated in providing an enriching educational experience to both individuals and performing groups. Bands, Choirs and Orchestras of all levels are eligible to join either a competitive or non-competitive setting. Both classifications will receive critiques/working clinics and awards.
Each CAWS Festival includes:
* comprehensive adjudication by the finest music educators
* Full working clinics to enrich the educational experience
* Individual recognition for outstanding achievements for each group.
In 1999, C.A.W. added Musical Carousel Events for "A Fun Day for One Day" will include a music festival performance, critiqued by evaluators on tape and a rating plaque provided. The students will then proceed to the THEME PARK where they will experience fun the rest of the day before returning home with a positive music experience. (back to top)
Performing groups from around the world audition for the honour of being part of the “Disney Show.?If your group (band, choir, orchestra or other performing group) is chosen they will get to be featured performers at venues in Walt Disney World Resort.
This unforgettable experience includes:
• A dedicated Disney Guest Talent Co-ordinator to personally work with you on all aspects of your performance.
• Hands-on workshops facilitated by Disney entertainers. These fun and informative sessions include:
• “Jazz It Up? a workshop for Jazz bands showcasing the essential components of jazz style. Groups examine phrasing improvisation, ensemble sound, jazz styles and the rhythm section.
• “You're Instrumental? Concert Bands go into the recording studio and record their own sound track to a portion of a Disney animated feature.
• “Disney Sings?focuses on singing styles, interpretation and vocal dynamics. A Disney vocalist and recording artist will demonstrate how movement can impact song and vocal warm-ups can enhance your performance.
You will also receive a commemorative Magic Music Days T-shirt and pin, and a keepsake award recognizing your contribution (back to top)

Instrumental, Choral and Marching groups may participate for rating only, or in competition. Participating groups also have the option to attend a sight-reading program or a clinic with an adjudicator. Participating schools are also invited to attend Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser's student leadership workshops, an exclusive offering of the Festivals of Music Program.

Heritage Music Festivals
Heritage Festivals is an educational organization, established in 1980, which has gained rapid maturity and success due to the professionalism and experience of the head office staff in the fields of music, education and travel.
Heritage Music Festivals provides a musical forum for junior high , high school and college groups to perform before qualified adjudicators, while gaining public concert experience in a culturally stimulating environment. All of our festival cities, both in the USA , Canada and abroad, are selected for the diversity of opportunity they offer our participants, in the broadest educational sense. (back to top)
International Music Festivals
IMF was first organized in the USA to offer non-professional groups adjudication outside of their own states and to establish an international rating system. From 1972 to present, more than 6,500 musical groups have participated in IMF festival programs.
A distinguished panel of prominent musicians of both professional and educational ranks joined forces to devise ways to stimulate a higher level of music throughout the United States and Canada. (back to top)
MusicFest Canada
MusicFest Canada brings together the best young music students from across Canada . Each year in May, 1000's of students gather in a major city in Canada to perform, participate in workshops, listen to professional entertainment and enjoy the tourist attractions in the area.

Music in the Parks One Day Festival: Performance occurs between 8 AM and 3 PM . The afternoon is spent in the amusement park with the awards ceremony held at the park in the late afternoon or early evening.
Music in the Parks Two Day Festival: All concert bands, jazz ensembles, orchestras and choirs perform between 4 PM and 11 PM on the first day. (Friday in most cases).
On the next morning, all parade groups perform. The second day is spent at the park with the awards ceremony in the park in the early evening.
Divisions Instrumental: Concert Band, Orchestra, String Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, Parade Band.
Choral: Mixed Choir, Jazz Swing Choir, Madrigal Choir, Men's Choir, Show Choir, Treble Choir and Women's Choir.
Performance Sites: All performances take place in schools, hotel, colleges and churches near the park. Performances do not take place in the park. (back to top)North American Music Festivals
North American Music Festivals was created for discerning Music Directors who care about quality value, music education and most importantly rewarding their students' year of dedication and hard work with a positive festival experience which showcases your program's achievements.
* All festivals are open to high school, junior high school and middle school ensembles. *
Each festival guarantees adjudication opportunities for Concert Bands / Wind Ensembles, Orchestras, String Orchestras, Jazz Ensembles, Mixed Chorus, Show Choirs, Jazz Choirs, Women's Chorus, Men's Chorus and Madrigal Choirs.
All ensembles, from fledgling to advance, will receive a first class festival experience. You can enter your group for "Competition", "Festival Rating" or "Comments Only", whichever is more appropriate for your ensemble's level of development.
Performance Sites: Beautiful and acoustically pleasing, professional and university concert halls make up the bulk of concert performance venues. Most large percussion items as well as choral risers etc are supplied.
Music Education: Constructive comments from top quality adjudicators will support what you have been teaching your students all year. You receive cassette-taped comments in addition to the score sheets, plus all adjudication's are followed by a brief clinic with one of the judges so your students have instant feedback.
Awards: Elegant trophies and plaques reward you and your students for a year of hard work and musical growth. They are presented at entertaining banquet sites such as Medieval Times Banquet and Tournaments, Busch Gardens or Paramount 's Canada 's Wonderland. (back to top)

University of Mary Jazz Festival (Last weekend in January)
The jazz festival is a two-day event featuring performances by approximately 60 high school and junior high school jazz ensembles from a five-state and two-province region. More than two thousand enthusiasts get to enjoy guest artists as they perform with the University of Mary Jazz Ensemble.
